Orbicores Candy Packaging
The task was to create a food or beverage package design for a fictional brand that includes a unique mascot.
About the Brand
Brand Summary: Orbicores is a bold, playful candy brand built around discovery and surprise. Each orb-shaped gummy features a vibrant outer layer that gives way to a flavorful core, turning every bite into an interactive experience. Designed to be as visually exciting as it is delicious, Orbicores blends fun colors, dynamic textures, and a sense of cosmic curiosity. Our mission is to push beyond ordinary candy by combining playful design with sensory discovery, inviting consumers to explore what’s inside, one orb at a time.
Brand Guide
Typography: For the type, I wanted it to be bold and airy.
Color Palette: For the color palette, I wanted to separate from most common space color palettes. The main identity palette consists of white and purple, while the other colors are representative of the flavors. The darker flavor color represents the outer part of the candy, while the lighter flavor color represents the jelly in the core.

Logo
For the logo, I wanted to simulate the ideo of an orbit, so I did that by utilizing the negative space in the "O" lettermark. I attached an axis line to the negative space like how people do in a solar system diorama of some sort. I also made the logo 3D, since the brand utilizes 3D elements.

Brand Mascot
Mascot Name: Zorbo
Background: Zorbo is a bouncy jelly astronaut from a distant candy galaxy, traveling through space in search of the most flavorful cores in the universe.

Mascot Animation
For the mascot animation, I wanted to make him interact with the logo in some sort of way. This was done by having the mascot bring up the logomark to replace the normal sphere in the "O", and then moonbouncing on all the letters before he takes his final pose.
Final Packaging
In creating the packaging, I wanted to incorporate as many 3D elements as I could, while still making everything feel airy since I was dealing with a space scene. It was also important to incoporate the candies on the packaging, so that way the consumer knows what they're getting. Ultimately, the packaging mixes both 3D and realistic candies floating in space where the mascot is reaching for them.
